dinner • prep: 5 min • cook: 15 min • serves 4
Ingredients
- 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
-
Season the chops: Pat pork chops dry. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
-
Sear: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pork chops for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (145°F internal).
-
Baste with butter: Reduce heat to medium-low. Add butter and garlic to the skillet. Once melted, tilt the pan and spoon the garlic butter over the chops for about 1 minute.
-
Rest and serve: Transfer to a plate and let rest 3 minutes. Spoon pan juices over the top and garnish with parsley.
Notes
- Storage: Leftovers keep in the fridge for 3 days. Reheat gently to avoid drying out.
- Variations: Works great with boneless chops too — just reduce cook time by 1-2 minutes per side.
- Tips: Let chops come to room temperature for 15 minutes before cooking for more even results.
