Garlic Butter Pork Chops

Pan-seared pork chops basted in garlic herb butter — steakhouse flavor on a weeknight budget.

dinner prep: 5 min cook: 15 min serves 4

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chops: Pat pork chops dry. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.

  2. Sear: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pork chops for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (145°F internal).

  3. Baste with butter: Reduce heat to medium-low. Add butter and garlic to the skillet. Once melted, tilt the pan and spoon the garlic butter over the chops for about 1 minute.

  4. Rest and serve: Transfer to a plate and let rest 3 minutes. Spoon pan juices over the top and garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Storage: Leftovers keep in the fridge for 3 days. Reheat gently to avoid drying out.
  • Variations: Works great with boneless chops too — just reduce cook time by 1-2 minutes per side.
  • Tips: Let chops come to room temperature for 15 minutes before cooking for more even results.
