Creamy Coleslaw

Cool, crunchy, and tangy coleslaw with the perfect creamy dressing — the side that goes with absolutely everything.

side prep: 15 min cook: 0 min serves 4

Ingredients

  • 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup carrots, shredded
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Make the dressing: Whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, celery seed, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.

  2. Toss the slaw: Add shredded cabbage and carrots to the dressing. Toss until everything is evenly coated.

  3. Chill: Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes before serving to let the flavors come together.

  4. Serve: Give it a good toss before serving. Adjust seasoning if needed.

Notes

  • Storage: Keeps in the fridge for up to 3 days. It gets a bit softer as it sits but still tastes great.
  • Variations: Add shredded red cabbage for color, or toss in some sliced green onions. For a tangy twist, use a vinegar-based dressing instead.
  • Tips: Use a bag of pre-shredded coleslaw mix to save time. Let the slaw chill — it’s always better after resting.
