Bow Tie Pesto Pasta
Bow Tie Pasta (Farfalle), has always been my favorite pasta shape. Pesto is easy, fresh, and makes a healthy and yummy dish.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 - 16 ounce package of Bow Tie Pasta
- 2 cloves of fresh garlic or 2 teaspoons of minced
- 4 tablespoons of jar pesto (Barilla Rustic Pesto)
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese (fresh or shredded)
- Juice from 1/2 small lemon
- OPTIONAL ADDITIONS:
- Grilled Chicken, Shrimp, Cherry or Grape Tomatoes
COOK THIS
- Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil.
- Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to prevent pasta from sticking. Boil until pasta is still dense but able to chew. Bow tie pasta takes about 8-10 minutes.
- Drain and rinse pasta, then toss pasta together with pesto, garlic, parmesan cheese and lemon. Be careful not to break the bow ties. Salt and pepper to your liking.
- Serve immediately or pour mixed pasta into a 9 1/2 x 11 pan, cover with foil and bake when your guests arrive at 375 F for 20 minutes.
